If you've never booked a comedy show or comedy act before, you might not know what to expect.
You're not alone - we receive enquiries all the time from people asking how it works - so we've created this step by step guide on how to book a comedy show:
Act Selection & Payment
Before the Event
Why do you need so much information?
We want the event to work as well as possible, so we ask you as much about the event - where it is, who will be attending, to ensure that the acts we select are the right ones for your audience and venue. While most comedians have a variety in their material, they tend to write for a specific audience, so we'll match the best comedians to suit your event.
I don't want to choose the acts - can you do that for me?
Yes we can! We are experts at putting together excellent line ups, so we're happy to do this for you.
Can I choose the Comedians I want at my event? I know some brilliant ones I'd love!
If you have specific acts in mind, we're happy to organise these for you too - being connected within the industry means that it's much easier for us to liaise with agents and directly with comedians, and often we can negotiate a better deal for you too.
Why do I have to pay in advance?
Comedians book their shows very far in advance. In order to secure a booking we need to be able to guarantee the act will get paid or they may be left with a gap in their diary.
We have a strong reputation of looking after all of the acts we book - this ensures that we are able to book excellent acts at cheaper prices - they know they can trust us and they know they will receive a payment if we book them. We hold your fee in trust until the event.

What happens if I want to cancel or change the date of the event after I've paid?
We are happy to return your payment to you in full if you cancel your event with 30 days notice. We will not quibble or ask you to justify this. If you want to give a reason for cancelling we'd love to know, especially if it's something that could help improve our service, but if you give 30 days notice, no matter what your reason (even if your budgie has died), we'll give you your money back. If you change the date, we'll attempt to re-book the same acts you chose where possible.
What happens if one of the acts cancels on us?
This is fortunately a very rare occurrence, but sometimes an act can pull out of a show, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances. If this happens with more than 30 days notice of the show, we will work with you to find a replacement that is suitable to you - if we cannot agree on a suitable replacement, then we are happy to cancel and refund you in full, subject to notice periods mentioned in our terms and conditions.
